No Couch Potatoes! American Social is an event-oriented social network for people who like to get out, meet people, catch a concert or a football game. We're not for people who just want to "sit at home with a good book".

Is American Social a dating site?

Sure, you can use American Social for dating. Lots of people do. But it's not just about hooking up. People also use it to find people to do things with - sports, music, comedy, theater - things like that.

So when you search our event listings, you rate the events you like (or don't like), get tickets, and see people who might like to go with you.

Think of American Social like a mix between a ticket site and MySpace, except my site doesn't look like a trash truck exploded. :-)

How to people find me?

People find you associated with the events you're interested in. So when browse the event listings, rate the events you like (and don't like), and people will find you.

And... it's free?

Yep, that's right. It's free, at least for now. If you click the ticketing links on this site, we get paid a little bit for that, so if you don't mind, that helps us keep the lights on.
